Our Mission
At Africa with Love Schools and Health Centre, our mission is to provide assistance to those in need. We believe that everyone deserves access to Education and Health Care and we work tirelessly to make this a reality.

George and Rosemary Willard founded the Charity in 2000 after working with another Charity and travelling to 9 African countries, working with orphans and the poor and destitute children. They attended a church which also had a Bible College attached and they use to invite students into their home for Food and Fellowship. It was the African students that they got to know and on hearing their stories from different countries, George and Rosemary commenced assisting them with books for their studies. In 1990 they had been invited to Burkina Faso in West Africa, so requesting time off from their Full Time employment they made their first visit to Africa not really knowing anything about the continent. They visited for 1 month and were taken to see children in schools, shocked to see 150 children squashed into 1 classroom. So on their return back to the UK, they felt they really needed to help children, as the Founder George Willard had not been able to attend school full time due to an illness and he wanted children to be able to have a full time education.
On reporting back to their church and their desire to assist the children, they commenced the Charity, but it seemed that Uganda was the country which they were called to. So in 2007 they purchased 9 acres of land way out in the Bush which was just weeds and not a building in site. So the ground had to be cleared to commence building work and a small school was started without around 20 children sitting on the ground and learning from a retired Teacher from the UK who had also travelled to Uganda.
Now today 17 years later, there are 3 AFRICA WITH LOVE SCHOOLS on site, 1 Nursery School, 1 Primary School plus High school education up to Senior 6. Every year Primary 7 and Senior 4 and 6 pass their exams with no failures and the schools are in the top 10 schools in Uganda for the standard of Education. There are around 1000 children attending and over half of them Board at the School and the others are Day Children coming from many villages around.
There is also a large Health Center named after the Founder/Director know as Jajja George Health Center. George and Rosemary are known to every one as Jajjas (which means Grand-parents). We have fully trained staff and a wonderful Doctor who in 2024 has just received his Batchelors Degree. Plus a full Maternity Unit where Mothers can come and have their babies in safety, many lives have been saved. All children at the school received Free Medication and the villagers around also attend the Health Center.
This year in 2024 an Ophthalmologist Department has been added and many people have received glasses and treatment for Cataracts.
Their daughter Elizabeth Lansdowne runs the Office and is sponsorship Manager for the Charity. she travels to Uganda 3 times a year to check on the children and staff and to check on ongoing building work/repairs etc.
Our Programmes
To provide Education, Health care, Christian values, love and care to our pupils and staff and the wider community. Africa with Love Schools and Health Centre offers a wide range of programmes to assist those in need. We are constantly working to expand our offerings and ensure that we are meeting the changing needs of our community.
